I love Facebook. Tomorrow I’m wearing red for Burma. I’m doing so along with 44,444 other people! I just waited all of about 1 minute for that nice, easy number by refreshing the page a couple of times.
The invitation to this Facebook Event is spreading like wildfire, the number of “confirmed guests” rising by the second, and it makes me happy.
I love the internet when it helps people do good. Although, what good it will do for us all to wear red tomorrow, I’m not sure. It will probably make us feel like we’re helping the countless brave souls risking their lives by protesting a cruel and corrupt government. I hope all our good intentions do something to protect them. Will the UN step in before more bloodshed occurs? I truly hope so.
