If there ever was a politician that had passion, and principles, Corky Evans is it. Here he is, a little more than a month away from retirement, and not relenting a bit. Maybe there’s an urgency in him, now that he’s decided not to run in the May 12th provincial election. An urgent feeling that he doesn’t have much time left to make sure this government does what’s right? I don’t know, but I love the way he does it.
Corky will definitely be missed in the Legislature. By way of thanks, I’m helping to organize a fundraiser for Corky’s riding of Creston-Nelson. He’s speaking here in Victoria on the subject of Food Security on Sunday, March 1st. Agriculture is an issue he holds dear, and you can bet, being that it’s the last time he’ll speak publicly on Vancouver Island before retiring as MLA for Nelson-Creston, it will be something to remember. Let me know if you’re interested in getting a ticket, or you can buy tickets online here. Don’t miss it!
